Ward honored at 2018 Police Unity Tour

On May 10, 2018 Long Beach Police Officer Sondra Ledesma rode in the Police Unity Tour from Somerset, New Jersey to Washington DC in honor of Officer Matt Ward.

The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. “We ride for those who died”

This 3 day 300 mile bike ride is during National Police Week and ends at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in DC. To date there are approximately 2,500 riders from all over the country!

In honor of Matt Ward, this year’s 2019 Police Unity Tour riders will include Matt’s Mother, Gloria Opstad VIP Cypress PD, Loree Erpelding Emergency Services Coordinator Cypress PD, Commander Steve Bowles and Sergeant Julia Clasby Seal Beach PD and Officer Brian Clasby Garden Grove PD.
